Wylie ISD Names Four New APs
The Wylie ISD is pleased to announce the following new assistant principal (AP) appointments for the 2018-2019 school year:
- Davis Intermediate Assistant Principal – Cody Summers (currently AP at Draper)
- Davis Intermediate Assistant Principal – Megan Keller (currently high school ELA learning specialist)
- Draper Intermediate Assistant Principal – Karrie George (currently high school math learning specialist)
- Hartman Elementary – Angela Waters (currently AP at Cox)
Cody Summers has 16 years of educational experience, with stints in Lake Travis and Leander ISDs before joining the Wylie ISD in 2008. He served as a teacher until 2013 when he was named AP at Draper Intermediate. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Texas A&M Commerce. Davis principal Barb Rudolph has announced she will be retiring in December and Mr. Summers will move into the principal position at that time.
Megan Keller began her teaching career in 2003 in Wylie ISD. She has served on several campus and district advisory committees and was the English Department Chairperson while at Wylie East High School. Since 2013, she has served at the administration building. She is a graduate Wylie ISD’s Teacher Leader Academy. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas-Dallas and a master’s from Lamar University.
Karrie George started teaching in 1999 and spent several years in the business word before joining Wylie ISD in 2012. At Wylie High, she served on several campus committees and was the Math Department Chairperson. She moved to the administration building in 2017. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree from Texas A&M Commerce.
Angela Waters began her teaching career in Richardson ISD in 1998. While in RISD, she served as an elementary school teacher, special education lead teacher and special ed administrator. She joined Wylie ISD in 2014 and has served as a 4th grade teacher since. She is a graduate of Wylie ISD’s Teacher Leader Academy. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a master’s from Lamar University.
