Vanessa Hudgins Named Groves Principal
Wylie ISD is proud to announce that Vanessa Hudgins has been named the new principal of Groves Elementary School. Mrs. Hudgins replaces Jill Vasquez, who moved to central administration this spring. Groves has 562 students.
“I am honored to be named the new principal of the Groves Gators,” said Mrs. Hudgins. “What a privilege to work alongside this great staff in developing our students. I am excited to meet all of our families and look forward to continuing to build a love for learning in the hearts of each Gator.”
Mrs. Hudgins began her teaching career in 1994 in Spring Town, TX and moved to Wylie ISD in 2000. She served as a sixth grade teacher at Davis Intermediate and a fourth grade teacher at Smith Elementary before moving to the Educational Service Center in 2014 where she served as the district’s elementary social studies learning specialist. She has been the assistant principal at Harrison Intermediate and is currently the AP at Hartman Elementary. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University and a master’s degree from Texas A & M Commerce.
