Wylie ISD is proud to announce that Krista Wilson has been selected as the principal at Cox Elementary School. Mrs. Wilson follows Diana Pecorino who is moving to district administration. Cox Elementary has 680 students and houses part of the district’s Dual Language Program.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of the wonderful Cox Elementary community,” says Wilson. “We live in the Cox neighborhood and I know the families we serve. My goal is to continue building on the current successes at Cox, so all our students reach his or her full potential.”
Mrs. Wilson is currently the assistant principal at Hartman Elementary. She began her teaching career in Mesquite ISD in 1994. Following a stint in Garland ISD, she joined Wylie ISD in 2008 where she has served as a teacher, campus curriculum and instruction coach, and learning specialist before moving to Hartman in 2014. She holds a bachelor’s degree from East Texas Baptist
University and a master’s degree from Texas A&M Commerce. Mrs. Wilson and her husband have a son and daughter, who are both Wylie ISD students.
This change will take effect for the 2017-2018 school year. The district will now start the process of replacing the AP position at Hartman.
