Matthews Named Skyward 2022 Leader in Excellence Award Winner
Wylie ISD Director of Information Services, James Matthews, has been selected as a Skyward 2022 Leader in Excellence Award winner, a national recognition. Every year, Skyward, an administrative software provider, recognizes leaders who improve education and inspire new ideas and initiatives.
"I am pleased, honored, and humbled to accept this award and join the past recipients,” Matthews said. “Thank you to those who nominated me and supported my nomination."
From data mining and improving scheduling processes for Curriculum & Instruction to creating seamless workflows for Human Resources, Matthews helps every department in Wylie ISD function more efficiently and effectively. His ability to automate systems and help campuses and departments find technological solutions allows the district to better serve students and staff.
“I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honor than James Matthews,” Superintendent Dr. David Vinson said. “James is our resident Skyward genius and is often called upon by other school districts to share his expertise. He is constantly developing new ways to make processes easier and more efficient for staff and enhancing the overall technological experience for our district.”
In March, Matthews will be honored with his award during Skyward’s annual international conference, iCon.
