Wylie ISD Remote Learning Update

June 14, 2021

Wylie ISD Family,
Thank you for the support, trust and hard work to make last year successful. Despite the challenges COVID-19 presented, our kids felt cared for and loved. It is also hard to believe nearly a month has passed since we graduated the Class of 2021. Since then, we have been busy preparing for next year, which includes adapting to the new rules and laws that were passed during the recently concluded Texas Legislative Session.

Earlier this year, we promised to update you on remote learning and if it would be a possible learning option for the 2021-22 school year. Unfortunately, state lawmakers did not pass legislation that would fund remote instruction, therefore it will not be offered as a future learning option for the students in Wylie ISD.

Fortunately, only a fraction of the students we serve requested remote learning as a school option for next year. Even though remote learning is no longer available, we care about the health and safety of those students and their families who remain at risk. We ask that families share a severe health risk that may be impacted by in-person learning via the survey linked below. The survey will be open until Friday, June 18 at 5 p.m. and Wylie ISD will reach out to those who respond.

*log in to Skyward Family Access; an online form notification will appear on your Skyward message wall.

We miss your kids and the teachers in our classrooms already and cannot wait to see their bright, smiling faces and experience their hugs in person very soon! Thanks for your patience and understanding as we prepare for the next school year with love and care, the Wylie Way!

Have a GREAT summer!
