Wylie ISD is proud to announce that Jason Ervin has been named the new principal of McMillan Junior High. Mr. Ervin is currently one of the Maurader's assistant principals and follows Jon Peters, who will retire at the end of the school year.
“It is an honor and privilege to continue the legacy that was started by Jon Peters,” said Mr. Ervin. “McMillan Junior High has a great history of success. ‘We Are McMillan’ means that all teachers, students, parents, community members, and stakeholders rise up to help ensure the success of McMillan. I am very grateful for the opportunity to lead this amazing learning organization.”
Mr. Ervin started as a teacher and coach in Paris ISD in 2007, then served in Waco ISD from 2009-2012. He joined the Wylie ISD in 2012 as a teacher and coach at McMillan. While at McMillan he also served as campus athletic coordinator. He was named the Dean of Students at McMillan in 2016 before becoming an assistant principal in 2018. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M Commerce and earned his master’s degree from Texas A&M Commerce through the district’s cohort program.
