WHS CTE Teacher Michelle Bellamy has been awarded the $20,000 PLTW Grant for Computer Science!!

This grant, in partnership with Lockheed Martin and Project Lead the Way will empower students to become creators, instead of merely consumers, of the technology all around them.

Whether building apps to meet client needs or exploring cybersecurity, PLTW Computer Science engages students in interdisciplinary activities that not only build knowledge and skills in computer science, but also empower students to develop essential skills such as problem solving, critical and creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and perseverance.

“This is a fantastic opportunity and I am so pleased that we have been awarded this grant and can offer this to our students,” said Mrs. Bellamy. “This, in addition to industry relevant certification added this year, will prepare them for whatever path they choose beyond high school.”

The school will receive $10,000 in 2019-2020 and $10,000 in 2020-2021.
