Jamie Fletcher Tabbed to Lead Tibbals Tigers
Wylie ISD is proud to announce that Jamie Fletcher has been selected as the principal at Tibbals Elementary School. Mrs. Fletcher follows Melinda Sarles who is retiring at the end of the school year. Tibbals Elementary has 700 students and is located in Murphy.
“While I am sad to leave the wonderful families at Smith, where I have learned so much and built amazing relationships, I am honored to join the Tibbals family. Tibbals is known for great teachers, fabulous families, and high academic success and I look forward to joining them,” said Fletcher. “As Mrs. Sarles begins a new adventure, we recognize the love she poured into the Tibbals community and thank her for her commitment to excellence in education. She has set a high mark for a Tibbals principal”
Mrs. Fletcher is currently the assistant principal at Smith Elementary. She began her teaching career in 2000 in Gholson ISD, near Waco. In 2010, she joined Wylie ISD serving at Groves Elementary for two years before joining the Smith staff in 2012. In 2014, she was promoted to assistant principal. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and a master’s degree from Texas A&M Commerce. She earned her principal’s certification and is also a graduate of the district’s Aspiring Administrator Cohort and Aspiring Administrator Academy programs. Mrs. Fletcher and her husband have two sons in the Wylie ISD.
This change will take effect for the 2018-2019 school year. The district will now start the process of replacing the AP position at Smith.
