Wylie High School Girls Powerlifting Rise to Power, Bring Home State Titles

AHMO Iron is raising the bar!

Wylie High School girls powerlifting brought home two state titles and also placed in the top five at the 6A Texas High School Women's Powerlifting State meet.

Winning the state championship as a team in Unequipped, AHMO Iron also placed fourth as a team in Equipped.

This year is the first time the unequipped division was offered. Also known as competing raw, athletes in the unequipped division were not allowed to wear knee wraps, squat and deadlift bodysuits nor bench shirts.

Senior Emily Phillips is the state champion in her weight class, lifting a total of 1095 lbs!

Congratulations to Head Powerlifting Coach Katie Hathaway and to her powerlifters for powering up.
