Amanda Lannan has been named the new Principal of Cooper Junior High. She replaces Jesse Chavoya, who resigned for health reasons.

Lannan most recently served as the Director of Student Services.

Prior to that, she was the associate principal at Wylie High School, from 2019-2023.

Lannan began her teaching career in 2007 at Wylie East High School, teaching world geography and economics. In 2015, she moved to the Wylie ISD Educational Service Center and served as a social studies learning specialist. Lannan then joined the administration team at Wylie High School in 2017, serving as an assistant principal before her promotion to associate principal.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from Texas State University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M-Commerce.

Lannan resides in Wylie ISD with her family.
