November 7, 2023 Official Bond Election Results
The Wylie ISD Board of Trustees canvassed the Growth Management Bond election results at a special-called meeting on Nov. 16, 2023. The official election results from Collin County are as follows:
Wylie ISD Proposition A
- For: 3,975 (54.88%)
- Against: 3,268 (45.12%)
- Total Votes Cast: 7,243 (100.00%)

Bond Project Updates
- Kreymer Elementary (New School)
- Pre-Kindergarten Center Renovations at Hartman

Kreymer Elementary (New School)
November 2024
- Building grade beams are complete.
- Crawlspace MEP rough is complete in Areas B and C.
- First floor decking is complete Areas B and C.
- First floor concrete in Areas B and C will be poured soon.
- Second floor structural steel erection in Areas A, B, and C is ongoing.
October 2024
- Augered piles are complete.
- Grade beams are complete in Areas A, B, and C.
- Area D grade beams are in progress and near completion.
- West fire lane and parking grading have been completed.
- Concrete work for the west fire lane and parking lot is scheduled.
- Structural steel erection in Area B beginning soon.
September 2024
- Augered piles are complete.
- Grade beams are being formed.
- Sanitary and storm sewer rough-ins are complete.
- Fire lanes are grated and being prepared for concrete.
August 2024
- Rough grading is complete.
- Utility work has started.
- Auger test pile testing is complete.
- Will start drilling the auger cast pile.
July 2024
- Site grading was completed
- Installation of site utilities began in the second week of July
- Drilling for the test piles as part of the auger cast piles process began
June 2024
- Ground has been broken on the new Elementary School at the corner of Brown and Springdale.
- The area has been cleared and grubbed, but the weather has hampered progress with grading and utilities.
Pre-Kindergarten Center Renovations at Hartman
November 2024
- Underground utilities are complete.
- Site concrete is ongoing.
- Building piers are complete.
- Building grade beams is ongoing.
October 2024
- Underground Utilities are ongoing.
- Grading for the parking lot and fire lane is complete.
- Concrete work for the parking lot and fire lane is scheduled.
- Piers for Building H to start soon.
September 2024
- Old portable was demoed.
- Civil work has begun.
August 2024
- Phase 1 is complete.
- Teachers are back in classrooms.
- Punch work will be completed at night and on weekends.
July 2024
- Asbestos abatement was completed.
- All demolition work was finished.
- Electrical, plumbing, and mechanical rough-ins were nearly completed.
- Drywall framing was nearly finished.
- The ceiling grid was almost completed.
June 2024
- With the help of the amazing staff at Hartman, all the classroom materials were boxed up during school, allowing construction to begin on May 24.
- All the furniture and boxes were moved to the gym and cafeteria. Asbestos abatement and demolition of the gang restrooms, existing pre-K rooms, and all corridor ceilings and above have begun.
Major Maintenance & Facility Assessment Projects
August 2024
New Playgrounds and Turf
- We replaced the playground equipment and added turf to Akin Elementary, Dodd Elementary, Smith Elementary, and Birmingham Elementary. These projects are complete.
- We added turf to the playground at Watkins Elementary and Bush Elementary.
Reception Desk Casework
- We replaced the reception area casework at McMillan Jr. High, Draper Intermediate, Achieve Academy, Cooper Jr. High and Smith Elementary.
- These projects are complete.
July 2024
Wylie High School
- Removal and replacement of concrete paving and sidewalks.
- Replacement of 2000 ft. of 6ft. tall ornamental fencing and four gates project was completed.
- These projects are complete.
Wylie East High School
- The removal and replacement of concrete paving and sidewalks were completed.
- Completed replacement of the old railing at the field house, IMPAC building, and beside the cafeteria and gym. The project lasted about two weeks and is now completed.
Flooring Replacements
- All flooring projects were completed for the Cooper administrative offices, Dodd classrooms, McMillan classrooms, and McMillan weight room.
New Playgrounds and Turf
- Birmingham Elementary the playground equipment was installed.
- Dodd Elementary playground equipment installation is nearing completion.
- We’ve started work at Watkins Elementary for the turf installation.
- We started demo work at Smith Elementary.
Concrete Replacement Districtwide (Including Sealants)
- Concrete replacement is nearly complete for WHS, WEHS, Cooper, Draper, Tibbals, Groves, McMillan, and Davis.
- Sealant replacement is nearly complete for Cooper, Draper, Akin, Smith, Groves, Tibbals, Birmingham, and Harrison.
June 2024
Wylie High School
- Removal and replacement of concrete paving and sidewalks.
- Replacement of 2000 ft. of 6ft. tall ornamental fencing and four gates.
Wylie East High School
- Removal and replacement of concrete paving and sidewalks.
- Work has begun replacing the old railing at the field house, IMPAC building, and beside the cafeteria and gym. The duration should be about two weeks.
Flooring Replacements
- Flooring is being replaced at various campuses: Cooper administrative offices, Dodd classrooms, McMillan classrooms, and McMillan weight room.
New Playgrounds and Turf
- This summer, plans include replacing the playground equipment and adding turf at Akin Elementary, Dodd Elementary, Smith Elementary, and Birmingham Elementary.
- Turf will also be added to the playground areas at Watkins Elementary and Bush Elementary.
- Demolition work has already started at Akin and Birmingham.
Concrete Replacement Districtwide (Including Sealants)
- Throughout the summer break, damaged paving and sidewalks will be replaced at every campus.
- Concrete replacement is currently underway at WHS, WEHS, Cooper, Draper, Tibbals, Groves, McMillan, and Davis.
- Sealant replacement has been completed at Cooper, Draper, Akin, Smith, Groves, Tibbals, Birmingham, and Harrison.
