Wylie Adult ESL Philosophy
Wylie ISD Adult Education Program is committed to providing our students with opportunities to learn in a positive, structured learning environment. We are dedicated to the integration of school and employment services which allow learners to be successful in both endeavors. Student’s needs will be met through a multifaceted program which combines personal and professional achievements in a supportive environment. Our commitment is not simply to teach skills, but to help our students develop a desire for lifelong learning and the capacity for an improved quality of life.
Adult ESL & Children’s Literacy
Adult English as a Second Language classes are available starting each school year after Labor Day at Hartman Elementary located at 510 S. Birmingham Street as well as Tibbals Elementary located at 621 Waters Edge Way in Murphy for these classes. Wylie ISD does charge a fee of $30.00 for participant materials. You may pay cash, check, or money order on the evening of registration.We do follow the Wylie ISD school calendar, there are no classes held during holidays, professional development days and on state assessment days, as well.
A Children's Literacy program is offered for children ages 5-14 (Kinder through 6th grade) enrolled in Wylie ISD. Children's Literacy is educational support for children whose parents are participating in the Adult ESL classes.
