• Hello BES Parents,

My name is Jessica Jones and I am so honored to be your PTA President for the 2018-2019 school year.

This year, I have a son, Austin, in 2nd grade and my 3 year old, Diana, attends speech on Tuesday and Thursdays. I have graduates of BES, Audrey who is in 5TH and Autumn who is in 8th. I’ve got two kiddos that are graduates of Smith. Joey is in 8th and Julie is in 7th

Birmingham PTA missions align with National PTA’s. One voice for every child, being an advocate for children and backing our childrens futures. This means that your $8 for membership goes to help us fight for you kiddo in congress.  PTA has helped fight for better nutrition in our school cafeterias, better safety measures for our schools, and funding for our family and school programs. Your $8 can go so far for your child and many others! http://www.joinpta.org/ is a great way to sign up anytime. We will also have sign ups at school events.

Being a PTA member means you can volunteer as much as your schedule allows. It can be every Friday with our copy parent group, reading to students, putting together bulletin boards, hanging up hallway art, helping at different school events, or just donating a dish for our staff luncheons.  Volunteering in any capacity is greatly appreciated at BES. To be at a volunteer at BES in any capacity (Field Trips, class parties, event helper, MOD Squad or Watch Dog) you must have a background check on file.  https://web.wylieisd.net/BackgroundCheck/BkgroudCkForm.aspx

BES PTA provides support to our school, students, and staff with different fundraisers, luncheons for our teachers, dances, class parties, Carnival, Field Day, Pancakes with Bearington and different programs for our students to enjoy. This year, we got to sponsor a blow up obstacle course for our first Wylie Way Day!

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at Jessicaejones@hotmail.com or text or call me at 21-404-8321.

    Thank you,

    Jessica Jones
