Mr. Joseph Mehring

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies, with a focus on Sociology from UT Dallas in Richardson. Then, after a short stint in the retail world, I became certified to teach through the Collin College Alternative Teacher Certification Program in Allen. Since then, I have received a Masters of Education in Elementary Science Education from Texas A&M in Commerce.  I have spent the last nine years teaching sixth, seventh, and eighth grade mathematics and science. Then the last year, teaching elementary DAEP, including kindergarten through sixth grade, all subjects.  I am committed to providing students with a dynamic and interesting learning environment in which they can grow and develop. I have a passion for Science and Mathematics that I love to let shine in my class. I strive to provide students with a stimulating, challenging, and healthy learning environment that will allow them to become active participants in their learning experience. I thrive on keeping on top of the latest resources and developments within the scientific and teaching community. I am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities of working DAEP in Achieve Academy.

Outside of school, I have been married for 17 years to my wonderful wife Sherry.  We live with our eight year old son Roxton in Plano, Texas.  We spend a lot of our extra time helping at Saint Marks Catholic Church in Plano or just having family fun together.
