About Future Problem Solvers

  • Interested in learning to think critically? Are you a creative problem solver? Can you work
    with others to analyze future scenarios and design positive outcomes? Maybe this academic
    club is for you!!
     
    Global Issues competitions will be held at Davis Intermediate during the school day.
    Competition Topics and Dates:
    • ● Practice Problem #1: Mission to the Moon, Mars and Beyond - October 3
      ● Practice Problem #2: Drones - November 6
      ● State Qualifier: Food Loss and Waste- January 31
      ● State Bowl: (Teams that receive a ranking of 1 will advance to the State Competition in San Marcos)

     

    Community Problem Solving (CmPS) prepares one project to compete at the State Qualifier.
    Deadlines Dates:
    • Project Intent - December 5
    • Project Details, Paper, Addendum – February 13
    • Project Scrapbook - February 20

    (Students earn points for weekly participation and their work on the project. Only the top
    ranking students will be invited to state if our project qualifies.)


    If teams do well in the qualifying round, we could advance to the Texas State Bowl, set for
    April 12-14, in San Marcos.
