Wylie Retired School Employees

    Wylie Retired School Employees (WRSE) is a service and action organization for all public school and higher education retirees. WRSE is affiliated with the Texas Retired Teachers Assn. (TRTA) and works with TRTA to protect and improve the retirement benefits of all Texas public school retirees.

    Membership. All retired public education employees, all active public school employees, and any person interested in education may be a member of WRSE. Anyone joining WRSE must first become a member of TRTA. Dues for a year are $45 total--$35 for TRTA and $10 for WRSE.

    Benefits. Membership in TRTA/WRSE allows you to:

    • Stay informed on issues affecting pension and health care.
    • Receive endorsed benefits and discounts available to members.
    • Stay connected with friends and former colleagues.
    • Be involved in the schools and community through volunteer opportunities.

    Meetings. WRSE meets the second Wednesday of the month from September to May at the Wylie ISD Educational Service Center, 951 South Ballard, Wylie, TX. Retirees may come for coffee at 9:45 A.M. and meetings begin promptly at 10:00 A.M. Programs are planned to inform, teach, provide entertainment, and allow time to interact with colleagues. Following the meetings, the retirees enjoy a light lunch compliments of the Hospitality Committee for each month.

    2017-2018 Results of ECHO Program
    (program runs from June 2017 to May 2018)

    Total of 1294 books distributed this past school year.

    • 1234 books into the hands of Wylie ISD kindergarten students
    • 60 books to the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County

    New Goal:  1300 books, one for each kindergarten student.

    Any books over the number of students will not go to waste!
