  • Hello Gator Family!

It is with great pleasure that I serve the students, families, and staff of Groves Elementary as your School Counselor!  This is the start of my 23rd year in education and my 18th years as a School Counselor.  In addition to being a counselor, I have also taught grades 1, 3, and 4.  I have been part of Wylie ISD for 19 years and am proud to call Wylie my home.

I am the proud mother of 4 wonderful children:  Jacy (22), Logan (18), Tucker (15), and Jaret (13).  All of my children have attended Wylie ISD, and Jacy will soon graduate from Texas Tech.  I also have the sweetest dog in the world, Hershey, who is a 7 year old Terrier mix &  thinks his only job is to protect me!  I went to school at Texas A&M University in College Station and am a die-hard Aggie football fan.  I also love the Dallas Cowboys!

I am passionate about helping students grow emotionally and socially as they progress through school & prepare for life.  I also feel strongly about giving parents tools to help them equip their child/ren with skills they will need to be successful.  I use the Mind-up Curriculum for my guidance lessons, as well as literature from Julia Cook and other authors.  I try to share information whenever possible on my Gator Counselor's Page on Facebook.  I am also the 504 & Homeless Campus Coordinator and the liaison for PALs & MENTORS.  If you have any questions or would like to talk to me, please contact me to schedule an appointment.
