I became a teacher because of my experience as a summer camp counselor where I became a mentor, role model, and teacher. It was so rewarding, and I was excited to begin each new day with my campers while sharing their love for learning. As a teacher, I am fortunate to have that same experience with my students for the entire school year!
I enjoy reading fiction, being creative, seeing musicals, and going to my favorite vacation spot - the beach. More of my favorites are spending time with my family and friends and cuddling with my cat, Isabell.
I have always loved reading and art. Even before I started kindergarten, my favorite place to visit was the library. I would spend hours sitting on the floor reading book after book. I also enjoy being creative and learning new artistic skills. Painting is one of my favorite things!
My passion for teaching is directly related to building relationships with my students and being part of their love for learning. I also enjoy collaborating with other teachers and being part of a team that is dedicated to supporting student success.
I am thrilled to be in Wylie ISD and so blessed to be teaching at Watkins Elementary! I strive to instill a love of learning in my students, and I want every student to feel valued, important, and confident in the classroom. It brings me great joy to teach and I know this is going to be an amazing year!
