Baking Club
  • Hello students, parents, and community members!

I am Chef Emily Guynes.  This is my third year teaching at Wylie High School.  Before becoming a Pirate, I attended the University of Texas at Austin earning a BS in Advertising from the College of Communication.  After working as a media buyer for a couple of years, I decided to pursue a more engaging career and attended the Art Institute of Dallas where I earned an AA in Baking and Pastry.  Since then, I have worked at two of the top wedding cake bakeries in Dallas and owned and operated my own dessert food truck.

I live in Dallas and have a 3 year old daughter and a wonderful husband (going on 6 years this year!). In my spare time, I still bake, but I also enjoy gardening, knitting, and reading.

I teach Introduction to Culinary Arts, a hands on cooking class for our second year students and I supervise our Practicum students in the 544 Cafe on Wylie High School Campus.

I also sponsor the Wylie High School Baking Club and help train culinary students for Skills USA competitions.

I love these kids and I love cooking in that order.
