Ms. Kramer

Hello!  I am relatively new to Wylie.  I moved here in July 2017 from Phoenix, Arizona.  During my 18 years in Phoenix, I taught middle school and high school as well as coached softball and basketball.  I grew up in Ohio, and I am a devout Buckeyes and Browns fan!!    Prior to teaching, I was a certified athletic trainer working for an osteopathic doctor.  As an ATC, I was able to develop rehabilitation protocols for all types of injuries and post surgeries.  In addition, I was contracted out to area high schools as part of their athletic injury prevention programs.  It was during this time that I realized my true passion was to be around adolescents to assist them attain their dreams.   I thrive on observing the light bulb switch on as material is comprehended.

At WHS I am one of the advisors for our Future Health Professionals, HOSA.  Additionally, I have the honor to serve on the Texas HOSA Board of Directors. Over the last five years, our membership at WHS has grown considerably, and our involvement at the state and international level has exploded!  This year, one of our very own graduates competed in Nursing Assisting and ranked second in the world!!!!!    It is my hope that this year the excitement around HOSA and all it has to offer is embraced by more of our students interested in the medical field.   Feel free to visit our NEW website for up-to-date information!

Finally, I feel I set high expectations for my students. It is common practice in my class to critically think and observe as well as learn curriculum.  Among my expectations are for each young person to use what they know and what they see to help decipher what is not known.  This may prove uncomfortable for some, yet, I feel I am very approachable and try to make this process as fun as possible.  :)   Now, let us all have one awesome year together!!!
