Mrs. Robin Best

My name is Robin Best and I am THRILLED to be your child's Social Studies teacher this year!  This will be my sixth year with McMillan Junior High.  I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Crime and Justice Studies.  While working towards my undergraduate degree, I worked as a licensed insurance claims adjuster for the state of Texas.  After 13 years as an adjuster, I made the bold decision to pursue a new career in my field of!  After completing my student teaching right here at McMillan Junior High, I was blessed to be hired as a full-time teacher with Wylie I.S.D.  Education is very important to me and my motto is YOU NEVER STOP LEARNING!  In fact, I just completed my masters degree in May 2021 in School Counseling through Amberton University.  McMillan Junior High is my home away from home.  We truly are a family here and care deeply about "our kids" and their success.  Although I work with some of the best teachers in the state of Texas, I was humbled and honored to be chosen as the 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year for my campus.  I look forward to seeing my students each and every day and truly hope they discover a passion for learning and sense of belonging while in my classroom.

We finished the 2020-2021 school year strong with excellent success for our students in spite of COVID-19!  I take the Wylie Way to heart and will always strive to help my students excel, not only academically, but in life as well.  My purpose is to ensure that every child realizes their potential by instilling confidence through a safe, energetic and inclusive classroom environment.  We are McMillan, and we are in this together!  This is going to be an amazing year, and I am honored to be your teacher.
