Mission Statement
The mission of the Curriculum Department is to provide each teacher and student with the necessary state-adopted textbooks. The Curriculum Department is responsible for coordinating the review, adoption, and purchase of instructional materials for all Wylie ISD schools.
House Bill 1605 allows parents to formally request a review of classroom instructional materials. The purpose of the instructional material review is to answer the questions below:
- Are the materials being used in the classroom the same as the ones adopted by the district?
- Are they at the right level of rigor?
Parents are always welcome to ask their child’s teacher to informally review materials at any time. The form below can be used when a parent is requesting a formal district review of instructional materials.
Please note that the district is not required to consider a formal review unless at least 25% of parents in the campus submit the same request. If you would like to review instructional materials informally, please reach out to your student's teacher.
