Wylie ISD Students Shine at 2025 SkillsUSA State Competition

Wylie ISD students represented the district with excellence at the 2025 SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference in Corpus Christi. With nearly 7,700 students from across Texas competing, both Wylie East High School and Wylie High School stood out, earning top awards, industry certifications, and national qualifications.
Wylie East High School
Wylie East students proudly represented Raider Nation, earning recognition across a wide range of categories and bringing home an impressive collection of awards.
- Chapter of Excellence Gold Award, making Wylie East eligible for the prestigious SkillsUSA Models of Excellence at the national level.
- Reid Waters was named a SkillsUSA National Officer Candidate.
- Peyton Pecorino was elected as a SkillsUSA Texas State Officer.
- Jordan Batiste was elected as a SkillsUSA Texas District 5 Officer.
Gold Medalists
- Elaf Braso – Gold in Job Demonstration A
- Also recognized for her Internet of Things project with a State Superior Rating and Best of Show in IT.
- Advancing to Nationals
- Dakota Fagan, Ethan Henderson, Blas Martinez, and Hunter Watson – Gold in the Building Search competition, earning the title of Best in Texas.
Additional Honors
- Georgia Fleming earned an Industrial Certification and a Bronze medal in the Felony Traffic Stop - Technical Test.
- David Lanman was named Texas State Advisor of the Year and will advance as the Texas nominee for National Advisor of the Year.
