Wylie ISD Seeks Community Input for Naming Two New Schools

Wylie ISD Seeks Community Input for Naming Two New Schools

Two new schools, an intermediate and junior high, are scheduled to open in Fall 2026 on the east side of Wylie ISD, on Kreymer Road and south of Brown Street. The Wylie ISD Board of Trustees is seeking community input to help name these new campuses.

In alignment with Board Policy CW (LOCAL), school names may honor individuals (living or deceased), heroic figures, or geographic areas. While the Board of Trustees will make the final decisions, suggestions from the community will help shape this milestone in the district's history. The deadline to submit name suggestions is January 10, 2025. The submission form may be accessed at the following link.

Submit Your Suggested Name

Once the submission period closes, entries will be reviewed as recommendations for each school are developed. School names will be announced in Spring 2025.

It is important to note that the new elementary school opening next school year on Brown Street has already been named in honor of the Kreymer family, per a land purchase agreement established in the 1980s.

This is an exciting opportunity to celebrate the values and legacy of the Wylie ISD community. All Wylie ISD residents are encouraged to participate in the input process.

Inquiries should be directed to communications@wylieisd.net.
