Wylie ISD Purchasing Department Earns TASBO’s Award of Merit for Sixth Consecutive Year
- Announcement
For the sixth year in a row, the Wylie ISD Purchasing Department has earned the Award of Merit by the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). This recognition honors the department’s commitment to excellence and adherence to best practices in purchasing operations.
For 2025, only 80 educational organizations across the state met the stringent criteria to qualify for this honor.
“We are very proud of our Purchasing Department,” Scott Roderick, Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Operations said. “This recognition highlights this team’s commitment to compliance with laws and regulations, as well as their integral role in the responsible management of taxpayer dollars. Their efforts ensure our district continues to be a model of integrity and accountability.”
This year’s recipients will be celebrated at an awards reception hosted by BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative during the TASBO annual conference in Austin.
The Award of Merit was established in 2009 to recognize Texas school districts, open-enrollment charter schools, and education services centers that are committed to following professional standards in the acquisition of goods and services. Each year, volunteers with the TASBO Purchasing & Supply Management Research Committee evaluate the award criteria to ensure it represents the latest best practices. They then review new and recertification applications.
