Wylie ISD Names Power As Executive Director of Special Education
Morgan Power, Executive Director of Special Education

Wylie ISD is proud to announce that Morgan Power has been named the district’s new Executive Director of Special Education. She will officially assume the role at the end of the school year, following the departure of current Executive Director Jamie Fletcher, who is stepping away from education to support her family’s business.

Power has been a valued leader in Wylie ISD since 2018, when she joined Whitt Elementary as assistant principal. In 2020, she was named principal and quickly distinguished herself as a student-centered leader known for cultivating strong, positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Under her leadership, Whitt Elementary has continued to thrive academically and socially.

She began her career in public education in 2007 in Royse City ISD, later serving in Lone Oak ISD before returning to Royse City. In 2018, she became part of the Wylie ISD family. Throughout her career, she has served on numerous campus and district advisory committees, working to ensure that all students have the support and opportunities they need to succeed.

She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Texas A&M University–Commerce, as well as her administrator’s certification.

As Executive Director of Special Education, Power will lead the district’s special education programs to ensure students receive individualized support and services aligned with their unique needs. She will oversee compliance with state and federal guidelines, support teachers and staff, and collaborate with families to promote student success across all campuses.
