Wylie ISD Names Nishiyama Principal of Whitt Elementary
- Announcement

Wylie ISD is proud to announce that Stephanie Nishiyama has been promoted to principal of Whitt Elementary. She will assume leadership from Morgan Power, who has accepted a district-level position as Executive Director of Special Education.
Nishiyama was recently announced as the incoming assistant principal for the new Kreymer Elementary, a role she was honored to accept. With this leadership transition, however, she will now return to a campus where she spent 11 years teaching. During her time at Whitt, Nishiyama taught kindergarten and fourth-grade ELA/social studies, and she is thrilled to rejoin the campus as its next principal. The district will immediately begin the search for a new assistant principal for Kreymer.
Since joining Akin Elementary as assistant principal in 2021, Nishiyama has been instrumental in supporting students and staff, fostering a strong campus culture, and enhancing learning experiences. Prior to her time at Akin, she served as a reading interventionist. She began her career in Wylie ISD in 2006 as a kindergarten teacher at Hartman Elementary.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University–Commerce and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership at Texas Tech University.
Nishiyama and her family reside in Wylie.
