Wylie ISD Names New Wylie High Administrators

Wylie ISD is pleased to announce three Wylie High School campus leadership changes:

  • Tarah Clark, Associate Principal
  • Dr. Shivon Loya, Assistant Principal
  • Kristin May, Assistant Principal

Tarah Clark

Wylie High School Names New Associate Principal

Tarah Clark will assume associate principal duties at Wylie High School, taking over for Leslie Coble, who was recently appointed principal at Cooper Junior High.

Clark began her public education career in 2007 as a high school math teacher in Plano ISD. After 11 years of teaching and coaching, Clark transitioned into campus administration in 2018, serving as an assistant principal at Armstrong Middle School for four years and at Jasper High School for one year. In 2023, she joined the Wylie ISD family as an assistant principal at Wylie High School. 

Clark is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She also holds a Master of Education in Education Leadership from Lamar University. 

Clark and her family reside in Wylie.

Wylie High School Names New Assistant Principals

Dr. Shivon Loya and Kristin May have been appointed as the new assistant principals at Wylie High School, succeeding Tarah Clark, who has been named associate principal, and Ingrid Goslin, who is pursuing a new opportunity.

Dr. Shivon Loya

Dr. Loya brings over 30 years of experience in Texas public schools to Wylie ISD. She joins the Pirates from Quinlan ISD, where she has served as an assistant principal at Ford High School since 2020. Dr. Loya began her career in 1992 as a hospitality services and culinary arts teacher at Ysleta ISD’s Academy of Science and Technology. After six years at Ysleta, she moved to Socorro ISD as a middle school teacher, where she taught for four years before taking on various roles, including instructional technologist, campus instructional coach, student activities director, and district instructional technology trainer.

In 2014, Dr. Loya relocated to North Texas, where she held central office positions in Ferris and Caddo Mills ISDs for four years. She also served as a consultant for Region 10 for two years before accepting her position at Quinlan ISD.

Dr. Loya received her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from Texas State University. She also earned her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at El Paso, and her Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University.

Kristin May

Kristin May

May joins the Wylie ISD family with nearly 20 years of experience. She is currently an assistant principal at Frankford Middle School in Plano ISD, a position she has held for the past two years. May began her career in 2007 as an assistant band director. In 2016, she accepted the head band director position at Brown Middle School in Forney ISD, before taking on the same role at Wilson Middle School in Plano ISD in 2018. While at Wilson, May served as a principal intern for two years.

May received her Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Education from the University of Texas at Austin. She also holds two master's degrees – a Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University and a Master of Music in Performance and Arts Administration from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.

May resides in Wylie with her family. Her husband, Joel, is also an assistant principal in the district.
