Wylie ISD is proud to announce that Dale Ramirez has been selected as the first-ever principal of Hampton Intermediate, which will open its doors in August 2026.
Ramirez, who currently serves as an assistant principal at Burnett Junior High, brings a wide range of leadership experience in both elementary and secondary settings to his new role. He has spent his entire public education career in Wylie ISD, beginning in 2011 as a fifth-grade science teacher at Harrison Intermediate. He later taught eighth-grade science at Burnett Junior High before being promoted to assistant principal at Watkins Elementary in 2018. He went on to serve as assistant principal at Cooper Junior High and returned to Burnett Junior High in 2024.
Throughout his time in Wylie ISD, Ramirez has led campus-wide instructional and behavioral systems, overseen academic supports such as RTI and MTSS, coordinated state and district assessments, and facilitated high-impact professional learning communities. He is committed to promoting a positive campus culture and aligning systems that support student success.
Ramirez holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Midwestern State University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University–Commerce. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Texas A&M University–Texarkana.
Ramirez and his family live in Wylie. He and his wife, Courtney, have two children who attend school in the Wylie East feeder pattern.
Construction of Hampton Intermediate is progressing on schedule, and the district looks forward to welcoming students to this new school next fall under Ramirez’s leadership.
