Wylie ISD Earns Another ‘A’ for 2026 from the Texas Education Agency

Wylie ISD has once again earned the highest rating possible in the Texas Education Agency (TEA) A-F Accountability Ratings, receiving an overall ‘A’ with a score of 92 for 2026.

Since Texas began issuing A-F letter grades in 2018, Wylie ISD has never earned anything less than an ‘A.’ That consistent success continues to place Wylie ISD among the top-performing public school districts in North Texas. For Wylie ISD Superintendent Dr. Kim Spicer, the district’s ‘A’ represents much more than a letter grade.

“We are incredibly proud to once again be an A-rated district, and I hope we never forget what that ‘A’ really represents,” Spicer said. “It represents thousands of people showing up every day and doing their jobs with excellence. Every person in this district has a hand in this accomplishment.”

The 2026 ratings are based on student performance during the 2025-26 school year. The TEA’s A-F system evaluates districts and campuses in three key areas: Student Achievement, School Progress and Closing the Gaps, using measures including STAAR results and academic growth, graduation rates, and indicators of college, career, and military readiness.

Strong performance was also seen across Wylie ISD campuses, with 19 of the district’s 21 rated campuses earning an ‘A.’ The remaining two campuses earned high ‘B’ ratings, with scores of 89 and 88.

“I’m also really proud of our students,” Spicer said. “They work hard, they keep growing, and they continue to show us what they’re capable of. Behind them are parents and families who support their kids and our schools. That partnership absolutely plays a huge part in our success.”

For Wylie ISD Board of Trustees President Bill Howard, the results reflect the people behind Wylie ISD’s continued success.

“I say it all the time that I think we have the greatest school district in the world,” Howard said. “We have the best teachers and staff, incredible administrators, great kids, supportive parents, and a community that believes in our schools. These results are something our entire community can be proud of because it takes all of us working together for our kids. I couldn’t be prouder to call Wylie ISD home.”

While accountability ratings are only one measure of student and school success, the 2026 results continue Wylie ISD’s long record of academic achievement and provide another measure as the district works to ensure students continue learning and growing.
