Wylie ISD Announces New Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources

Amanda Lannan

Wylie ISD is proud to announce the appointment of Amanda Lannan as the new Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources. Lannan succeeds Casey Whittle, who was recently named superintendent at Whitehouse ISD.

Lannan most recently led Cooper Junior High as principal.

“I am grateful and thrilled for the opportunity to take on this new role,” Lannan said. “Wylie ISD holds a special place in my heart as it’s been my home for 17 years. I look forward to leading the efforts to retain our incredible educators and staff and recruit the best people to our district."

Lannan began her public education career in 2007 at Wylie East High School, teaching world geography and economics. In 2015, she moved to the Wylie ISD Educational Service Center and served as a social studies learning specialist. Lannan then joined the administration team at Wylie High School in 2017, serving as an assistant principal before her promotion to associate principal in 2019. In 2023, Lannan was appointed Director of Student Services, a position she held until she was named the CJHS principal.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Texas State University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M-Commerce.

Lannan resides in Wylie with her family.
