Wylie ISD Announces New Assistant Principals for 2025–26

Wylie ISD is excited to welcome three outstanding educators into new leadership roles for the 2025-26 school year. A.J. Fischer has been named the new assistant principal at McMillan Junior High, Pam Hennigan will serve as assistant principal at Harrison Intermediate, and Lindsey Ferrell has been selected as the next assistant principal at Dodd Elementary. These leaders bring valuable experience, a heart for students, and a strong commitment to the Wylie Way.

A.J. Fischer – McMillan Junior High

Fischer will take over for Brandon Frosch, who is pursuing a new opportunity. A respected member of the McMillan staff since 2021, he currently teaches eighth-grade math. He serves in multiple leadership capacities, including PLC facilitator for the eighth-grade math team, campus leadership team member, and Campus Guiding Coalition member.

Fischer began his public education career in 2015 at Sellers Middle School in Garland ISD, where he later became math department chair. His excellence in the classroom and leadership have been recognized twice, as he was named Campus Teacher of the Year at Sellers in 2020-21 and again at McMillan in 2024-25.

Fischer also brings valuable experience from his early career as a CPS investigator.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Spanish from Texas Christian University. He is on track to earn his Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University this summer. Fischer is completing his graduate studies through Wylie ISD’s continuing education partnership with Texas Tech.

Pam Hennigan – Harrison Intermediate

Pam Hennigan, AP Harrison Intermediate

Hennigan will step into her new role following Allison Alexander’s decision to step away from campus leadership to spend more time with her family. Currently teaching sixth-grade students at Harrison, Hennigan is a science co-leader, leadership team member, and sponsor of the SMART Girls Club.

Before joining the Harrison staff, Hennigan taught fourth grade at Dodd Elementary for nine years and fifth grade at Davis Intermediate for three years, consistently demonstrating instructional leadership and a passion for education. She began her teaching career at Malvern Elementary in McKinney ISD, teaching fifth grade for four years and leading the science team for two of those years.

Hennigan is a former Dodd Elementary Teacher of the Year (2019-20) and the founding president of the Delta Kappa Gamma teacher society chapter in Wylie.

She earned her Master of Science in Education from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Institutional Management from Texas Tech University.

Lindsey Ferrell – Dodd Elementary

Ferrell will replace Alyshia Zimmerman, who has been named the district’s new Special Services Coordinator following Belinda Feuerbacher’s retirement. Ferrell currently serves as the emergent bilingual teacher at Dodd, supporting language development for Pre-K through fourth-grade students.

A veteran educator, Ferrell began her teaching career in Wylie ISD – first at Tibbals Elementary and then at Dodd, where she spent over a decade teaching kindergarten and first grade. Throughout her time in the classroom, she held various leadership roles, including PLC leader, team leader, and mentor teacher, earning a reputation for her collaborative spirit and dedication to student success. In 2020, she transitioned to her current campus emergent bilingual teacher role.

Ferrell received her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is on track to complete her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University this summer through Wylie ISD’s continuing education partnership with the university.
