Wylie ISD Among Best School Districts in Texas With Perfect ‘A’ Ratings
- Announcement

In Wylie ISD, excellence is the standard in every classroom and on every campus. This year, Wylie ISD has once again earned the highest rating possible in the Texas Education Agency (TEA) A-F Accountability Ratings, achieving an overall ‘A’ for 2025. Even more impressive, every eligible campus in the district also received an ‘A’ as well as a distinction in this year’s results.
The TEA’s A-F system evaluates schools in three key areas: Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gaps, based on measures like STAAR test results, graduation rates, and indicators of college, career, and military readiness. Since the letter grades began in 2018, Wylie ISD has never earned anything less than an A. This consistent success places Wylie ISD among the best public school districts in North Texas, recognized for both academic excellence and student growth.
For Superintendent Dr. David Vinson, that consistency tells a bigger story.
“No matter which school a student attends in Wylie ISD, regardless of its size, location, or demographics, they are receiving the same great education and showing real growth in their learning,” Vinson said. “These ‘A’ ratings are a testament to the fact that every child, in every classroom, is given the opportunity to thrive. I’m so proud of our teachers, staff, and families for making that possible year after year. I’m also incredibly proud of our students and their hard work.”
Vinson is quick to note that while ratings are not the end-all, be-all of success, they do provide a meaningful snapshot of how students are doing. “A letter grade doesn’t define a student or a school, but it does give us one more measure to ensure we’re on the right track,” he said.
The 2025 announcement comes with a second reason to celebrate: the long-delayed release of the 2024 ratings, which were based on the 2023-24 school year but postponed due to an ongoing lawsuit. Wylie ISD earned an ‘A’ in 2024 as well, reinforcing the district’s standing as a consistent top performer. With the 15th Court of Appeals ruling this summer, those ratings can now be shared with the public alongside the 2025 results. Both sets of ratings will be available Friday, Aug. 15, at txschools.gov.
For School Board President Dr. Jacob Day, the results reflect what the community sees daily.
“This recognition reinforces what we see every day in our classrooms and throughout our campuses,” Day said. “Our students are learning at high levels, our teachers are going above and beyond, and our community is deeply invested in student success. We’re grateful for everyone who plays a part in making Wylie ISD the best place to learn and grow.”
With campuses located across the highly-regarded communities of Wylie, Sachse, and Murphy in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Wylie ISD remains a top choice for families seeking high-performing public schools in Collin County and North Texas. Known for its outstanding teachers, strong graduation rates, and focus on college, career, and military readiness, the district is committed to providing every student with a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
Note: The 2025-26 school year is Kreymer Elementary’s first year open; therefore, it does not yet have a rating.
