Wylie High Selects Heckelman to Lead Lady Pirates Basketball Program
Nate Heckelman, the new head girls basketball coach at Wylie High School.

Wylie ISD is excited to announce Nate Heckelman as the new Head Girls Basketball Coach at Wylie High School. He takes over for Jessica Linson, who recently accepted a promotion out of state.

Heckelman brings more than a decade of experience in education and coaching basketball. He currently coaches and teaches math at Garland High School in Garland ISD, where he serves as the lead varsity assistant for the girls basketball team. He previously coached freshman football and boys basketball at both the freshman and junior varsity levels for the Owls.

Before joining Garland ISD in 2022, Heckelman spent nine years teaching math and coaching boys basketball in Ohio. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Math Education from Bluffton University, where he also played college basketball.

A proud Wylie resident, Heckelman lives in the community with his family. Wylie ISD looks forward to the continued growth and success of the Lady Pirates basketball program under his leadership.
