Wylie High Promotes Ternus to Head Girls Soccer Coach
- Announcement
Wylie ISD is excited to announce Shelby Ternus as the new Head Girls Soccer Coach at Wylie High School. She steps into the role following Chris Bezner, who made the decision to step back from varsity athletics. A proud Wylie ISD alumna, Ternus brings years of experience on the field and a deep-rooted history in Wylie ISD, along with valuable coaching experience as she steps into this leadership position.
Ternus stepped into her role at Wylie ISD in 2021, serving as varsity assistant soccer coach and P.E. teacher, positions she continues to hold today. She has played a key role in the girls' soccer program and has provided mentorship to student-athletes both on and off the field, focusing on individual growth, leadership, and teamwork.
A former Wylie student-athlete herself, she returned to the district after earning a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Texas at Tyler.
With a strong connection to the program and a passion for student development, Ternus is well-prepared to lead the Lady Pirates.
Wylie ISD looks forward to the continued success and development of the WHS girls' soccer program under Coach Ternus’s leadership.
