Wylie High Promotes Harold Lacey II to Wylie High Head Boys and Girls Track and Field Coach

Wylie ISD is excited to announce Harold Lacey II as the new Head Boys and Girls Track and Field Coach at Wylie High School. Lacey has served as an assistant track and field coach with the Pirates since 2023 and now steps into the head coaching role after helping develop the program over the past two seasons.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Lacey has served as a paraprofessional at Achieve Academy, where he supports students in the district’s Disciplinary Alternative Education Program by providing academic and behavioral support and fostering a structured learning environment. During the 2025-26 school year, Lacey was named Wylie ISD’s Secondary Paraprofessional of the Year. He has since earned his teaching certification and will teach math at WHS this school year.

Before joining Wylie ISD, Lacey spent more than 30 years serving in the United States Marine Corps and the private sector, where he built a career centered on leadership, instruction, and mentorship.

A longtime track and field coach, Lacey led the Eternal Impact Track and Field Club for two decades, coaching athletes in both the USATF and AAU. During his military service, he also coached track and field and football, and served as a computer systems and networking instructor for Marines and civilians. He holds a USATF Basic Instructor Certification and is passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the track.

Lacey attended Louisiana State University before joining the military and earned a Bachelor of Science in Computational Mathematics from Liberty University. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to helping students grow through meaningful relationships and a strong team culture.
