Wylie ISD is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Preston Woo as an assistant principal at Wylie East High School.

Dr. Woo brings more than 20 years of experience in education and has served as an assistant principal at Royse City High School for the past three years. In that role, he has helped support student achievement, instructional improvement, and campus operations. Throughout his career, he has worked alongside teachers and administrators to create positive learning environments and ensure students have the support they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. His expertise in school improvement has led to presentations at the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) Summer Workshop, where he has shared strategies for empowering teacher leaders and using data to drive campus-wide instructional success.

Prior to Royse City ISD, Dr. Woo served as an assistant principal at Crandall High School and Crandall Middle School in Crandall ISD for two years. He also spent more than 15 years as a secondary English teacher, team leader, and department chair in Texas and Illinois, teaching in both Rockwall ISD and Chicago Public Schools. His experience includes curriculum development, professional learning communities, school improvement planning, and student support initiatives.

Dr. Woo earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Language Arts from the University of Illinois Chicago, a Master of Arts in School Leadership from Concordia University Chicago, and a Doctor of Education from East Texas A&M University.
