Wylie East Baseball Stays in the Family with Joe Castleman

  • Announcement
Wylie East Baseball Stays in the Family with Joe Castleman
Joe Castleman, new WEHS head baseball coach.

Wylie ISD is excited to announce Joe Castleman as the new Head Baseball Coach at Wylie East High School. Castleman succeeds Heath Andrews, who is retiring after years of dedicated leadership and service to the Raiders baseball program.

Andrews was the first head baseball coach in Wylie East history and played an instrumental role in establishing the program's foundation and culture. Castleman will become just the second head coach in the history of Raiders baseball as he continues that tradition and legacy.

Castleman brings more than a decade of education and coaching experience, all in Wylie ISD. He has taught math and coached at Wylie East throughout his time in the district, known for building strong relationships with students, staff, and families.

A graduate of Texas State University, Castleman earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Prior to Texas State, Castleman played collegiate baseball at Grayson College and was part of the program’s 2008 NJCAA Division I National Championship team before continuing his baseball career at the University of New Mexico.

Castleman resides in the community with his family. He and his wife are the proud parents of two children who attend Wylie ISD schools.

Wylie ISD looks forward to the continued growth and success of the Raiders baseball program under Castleman’s leadership.
