WEHS, WHS JROTC Programs Earn Top Marks for Headquarters Inspection

The Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps instructors and cadets of both Wylie East and Wylie High School earned an overall unit assessment score of “Exceeds Standards," the highest rating attainable, from the Air Force during their JROTC Headquarters Inspection.

Both schools earned a 97% out of a possible 100!

Wylie East High School received the following recognitions:

  • Instructor of the Year for Region 1, Sub-Region 8 (State of Texas): Col Brooks McFarland
  • C/Lt Col Cason Helms and C/1st Lt Wyatt Gibson were selected as Superior Performers.
    C/1st Lt Wyatt Gibson selected as JROTC Superior Performer
    C/Lt Col Cason Helms selected as JROTC Superior Performer
  • C/SSgt Sumaiyah Mamainte was singled out for her exceptional uniform appearance and, as a result, received a challenge coin from the evaluator.

Wylie High School received the following recognitions:

  • Instructors of the Year for Region 1, Sub-Region 8 (State of Texas): Lt Col Darren E. James and SMSgt Larry L. Lewis
  • Top Performers: C/Lt Col Brandon Tran and C/Capt Tuan Nguyen
    C/Capt Tuan Nguyen selected as JROTC Top Performer
    C/Lt Col Brandon Tran selected as JROTC Top Performer
  • Best Command Staff Briefer: C/Maj Redeit Habte
    C/Maj Redeit Habte recognized as JROTC Best Command Staff Briefer
