Tarah Clark Selected to Lead Burnett Junior High
Tarah Clark, Burnett Junior High School Principal.

Wylie ISD is proud to announce that Tarah Clark has been selected as the next principal of Burnett Junior High. She will succeed current Burnett Principal Levi Turner, who shared with families and staff last month that he plans to pursue a new opportunity at the end of this school year.

Currently serving as associate principal at Wylie High School, Clark has held that role since 2024. She joined WHS as an assistant principal in 2023 after serving in leadership roles in Plano ISD. In Plano, she served as assistant principal at Jasper High School and Armstrong Middle School, supporting campus operations, instructional leadership, campus testing coordination, and staff development.

Her career in education began nearly 20 years ago as a math teacher and coach in Plano ISD, teaching at Murphy Middle School, McMillen High School, and Clark High School. After 11 years in the classroom, she transitioned into campus administration. Throughout her career, she has also served in a variety of teacher leadership roles, including department chair, team leader, mentor teacher, and member of campus improvement and district leadership committees. She is known for being a supportive and detail-oriented administrator who builds strong relationships while ensuring campus systems run smoothly.

Clark holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. She holds certifications in EC-12 Principal, Mathematics 8-12, Physical Education EC-12, and Health.

She and her family live in Wylie.

As the district prepares for Turner’s departure, Clark will begin her duties at Burnett Junior High following Spring Break to begin working with the campus team and filling several key vacancies ahead of the 2026-27 school year. During this transition, Turner will serve as an acting administrator for the Wylie High School administrative team.
