Sip and Study: High School Students Fuel Up with New Iced Lattes on Campus

The high schools just got a latte cooler! Students no longer have to risk being tardy to get their caffeine fix in the mornings.

Wylie East and Wylie High Schools now offer iced lattes in the cafeteria during breakfast service, and they are getting hot reviews!

“The coffee was great!” Wylie East freshman Presley Moreno said. “It was a lot cheaper than usual coffees. I will definitely be buying more coffee from the Grab n Go.”

Dawn Lin, Director of Student Nutrition, made it her mission to bring the latte bar to the high schools.
“My personal favorite is the toasted cinnamon iced latte topped with sweet cream cold foam,” Lin said.

Along with toasted cinnamon, both high schools offer brownie batter lattes, caramel lattes, and vanilla lattes.

To ensure they meet the Smart Snack nutritional standards, Student Nutrition developed the four iced latte options, all of which comply with the 12 fl. oz limit and contain no more than 60 added calories.

“This is great,” Wylie High School freshman Manreen Kaur said. “I always want to go to Dutch Bros, but my mom doesn’t have time in the mornings because she has to get to work. Now I can get coffee here.”
