Pirates Soccer Hands the Reins to Armando Jimenez
- Announcement

Wylie ISD is excited to announce Armando “Mando” Jimenez as the new Head Boys Soccer Coach at Wylie High School. Jimenez succeeds Scott Dillon, who is stepping away from the program after 12 years of leadership, including a dominant playoff run this past season.
Coach Jimenez currently serves as an assistant coach in the Wylie High boys soccer program and teaches social studies at the campus. He joined the Wylie High School faculty in 2024. Prior to joining Wylie ISD, he served as the head boys soccer coach at South Garland High School from 2016 to 2024. Before that, he coached boys and girls soccer for two years at a private Christian school in Fort Worth.
Before entering education, Jimenez worked in the corporate sector. He played collegiate varsity soccer at TCU from 1998 to 1999 before competing professionally in Brazil’s First Division with Uniao Bandeirantes F.C. from 1999 to 2001. He also spent time as a reserve player for the MLS club Dallas Burn (now FC Dallas) in 1999.
Jimenez earned his Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies – History from the University of Texas at Arlington. He also holds a United States Soccer Federation National “D” Coaching License.
Wylie ISD looks forward to the continued success of the Pirates boys soccer program under Jimenez’s leadership.
