Leadership Transitions: Nishiyama to Help Open Kreymer Elementary, Boley Named Akin Assistant Principal

Wylie ISD is excited to announce two key leadership transitions for the upcoming school year. Stephanie Nishiyama, who has served as assistant principal at Akin Elementary since 2021, will transition to Kreymer Elementary, where she will work alongside Principal Vanessa Hudgins to help open Wylie ISD’s newest campus. Amber Boley, a seasoned educator known for her dedication to student success, will step into the assistant principal role at Akin Elementary.
Nishiyama Brings Leadership and Experience to District’s Newest Campus
Since joining Akin Elementary as assistant principal in 2021, Stephanie Nishiyama has been instrumental in supporting students and staff, fostering a strong school culture, and helping enhance learning experiences. She will now take on a new challenge as she moves to the new Kreymer Elementary, where she will serve as assistant principal.
Nishiyama has been a Wylie ISD educator since 2006, beginning her career as a kindergarten teacher at Hartman Elementary before moving to Whitt Elementary, where she spent 11 years teaching kindergarten and fourth-grade ELA/social studies. In 2019, she transitioned to Tibbals Elementary as a reading interventionist, a role she held before becoming Akin’s assistant principal.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership at Texas Tech University.
Nishiyama and her family reside in Wylie.
Boley Ready to Help Support and Inspire at Akin Elementary
Amber Boley is known for her experience, energy, and passion for student success. She currently teaches fourth grade at Tibbals Elementary and is excited for the opportunity to help Akin Principal Chris Dunkle lead the Frogs.
She has been a dedicated educator in Wylie ISD since 2009 when she was hired as a first-grade teacher at Birmingham Elementary. During her 10 years at Birmingham, she taught first, second, and third grade before transitioning to Tibbals Elementary in 2019.
Before joining Wylie ISD, Boley spent five years at Rhoades Elementary in Oklahoma, where she taught first and second grade. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Family Relations and Child Development with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from Oklahoma State University. She will graduate with her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University this summer.
Boley and her family reside in Murphy.
