Harrison Intermediate Names Powers as New Assistant Principal

Wylie ISD is proud to announce Brad Powers as the new assistant principal at Harrison Intermediate. He succeeds Joel May, who recently accepted an assistant principal position at Wylie High School.
Powers brings more than 15 years of educational experience to Harrison Intermediate, including service as a teacher, instructional leader, and assistant principal. Since joining Wylie ISD in 2023, he has taught third grade at Birmingham Elementary, where he has built strong relationships with students, staff, and families while helping support student growth and achievement.
Prior to joining Wylie ISD, Powers served as an assistant principal at Terry Middle School in Mesquite ISD for five years. In that role, he facilitated professional learning communities and staff development, supported student discipline and campus operations, developed programs to increase student involvement, and partnered with community organizations to support student success. He also served as an at-risk coordinator and classroom teacher in Mesquite ISD and began his career teaching in DeSoto ISD.
Powers earned a Bachelor of Science from Abilene Christian University and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University.
Powers and his family reside in Sachse.
