Groundbreaking Set for Wylie ISD’s Newest Schools Opening in 2026

Wylie ISD is proud to announce the upcoming groundbreaking ceremony for its 22nd and 23rd campuses: O.W. Hampton Intermediate and Richard Parker Junior High, both scheduled to open in August 2026.

The ceremony will take place on Monday, June 16, at 4:45 p.m. at the construction site located on Kreymer Lane between Brown Street and Mossy Oak Lane. Members of the public are invited to attend and help mark this exciting milestone in the continued growth of Wylie ISD.

Special guests expected at the event include members of the Hampton and Parker families, Wylie ISD Board of Trustees, City of Wylie leaders, former trustees, and district leadership.

Hampton Intermediate Rendering

O.W. Hampton Intermediate is named in honor of the late O.W. “Hamp” Hampton, a Navy veteran, former Wylie mayor, school board member, volunteer firefighter and Wylie ISD supporter. His decades of service left a lasting mark on the city he called home for more than 50 years.

Parker Junior High Rendering

Richard Parker Junior High is named after Richard Parker, a lifelong Wylie resident and longtime supporter of Wylie ISD. A former school board member, business leader, community leader, and scholarship benefactor, Parker’s legacy continues through the generations of students his efforts have impacted.

Both schools will be part of the Wylie East High School feeder pattern and reflect the district’s ongoing commitment to honoring those who have helped shape the Wylie ISD community.
