Cox Elementary Names Berg As New Assistant Principal

Wylie ISD is proud to announce Janie Berg as the new assistant principal at Cox Elementary. She takes over for Angela Clark, who recently accepted a new position within the district.

Berg brings 25 years of experience to the role and is strongly committed to student success, instructional excellence, and building positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

Since joining Wylie ISD in 2016, Berg has served as a classroom teacher at Cox Elementary and, most recently, as a Math Interventionist and Gifted and Talented teacher at Dodd Elementary. In her current role, she provides targeted support to students, collaborates with teachers to improve student outcomes, and uses data-driven practices to help ensure all students receive the support they need to be successful. Prior to joining Wylie ISD, Berg spent 15 years in Garland ISD, where she taught second and third grades.

Berg earned a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies from Texas Tech University and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Concordia University.

Berg resides in Wylie with her family.
