30 Wylie ISD Seniors Named 2027 National Merit Commended Students

Wylie ISD is proud to celebrate 30 high school seniors named Commended Students in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.

The recognition places these students among the nation’s top performers on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which students typically take during their junior year. Of the students who enter the National Merit Scholarship Program each year, approximately 50,000 earn recognition based on their scores, with about 34,000 named Commended Students.

Commended Students are recognized for demonstrating exceptional academic promise and received Letters of Commendation in September. Although they do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, some may be eligible for special scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses.

Congratulations to these outstanding students on this impressive accomplishment!
