Turning a tedious task into a new tradition, football families were invited to “Decals with Dads” at Burnett Junior High. Every year, football coaches and players undertake the important task of thoroughly cleaning all the football helmets and replacing the stickers. With 112 eighth graders and 94 seventh graders, this annual duty came to be quite overwhelming.

To introduce their peers to life as a Raider, “Raider Navigators” recently facilitated a Freshman Seminar at Wylie East High School.Freshman Seminar is a seven-day freshman orientation class attended by all ninth-grade students to learn important information about being in high school.

Wylie East High School freshman Marco Hunter-Lopez plans to one day run for Congress; he’s already made connections and built relationships to pave his way to the White House.Visiting with his grandmother about politics is what started Hunter-Lopez’s political journey.

Wylie ISD has received a preliminary A from the Texas Education Agency on School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) for the 2023-2024 school year. School FIRST reports public school district financial accountability ratings.Since TEA began rating the financial management of districts over 20 years ago, during the 2002-03 school year, Wylie ISD has achieved an A every year -- the highest rating possible!

Wylie ISD’s Visual Arts Department has been named a “District of Distinction” by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA). Only the top 5.5 percent of districts in the state earned the honor this year.
The Wylie High School Mobile Robotics Technology team took home the gold at the SkillsUSA national competition in Atlanta! Under the direction of Morris Goldade, SkillsUSA advisor and robotics teacher, juniors Sevy Wang and Kyle Quick can now add “National Champion” to their list of achievements.
