For Wylie High School student Adonias Tadesse, curiosity has always been the starting point for new discoveries. “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always been a curious experimenter,” Tadesse said. “I’d dive headfirst into new interests, master the basics, and then move on to the next challenge.”

On the playground at Hartman Early Childhood Learning Center, laughter, play, and imagination fill the air. Now, something new is helping those moments become even more meaningful: an interactive core board that gives every child a voice.

A single act of kindness can ripple far beyond its starting point. That’s the idea behind “Ripples of Hope,” where students at Harrison Intermediate set out to make a difference that they hope will encourage others to do the same.

Wylie High School senior Ameya Kohli has earned top honors in the 2026 Congressional Art Competition for Texas’ 3rd Congressional District, taking first place for her painting, “For You.” Her winning artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., where it will be viewed by millions of visitors over the next year.

Wylie ISD is proud to announce Curtis Holtz as the new assistant principal of Burnett Junior High. Holtz will step into this role following the recent appointment of Dale Ramirez as the inaugural principal of Hampton Intermediate.

Meet Janie Del Bosque, a dedicated bus driver who is a “floater” in transportation. “I get to move around a lot,” Del Bosque said. “They put me where they need me. I know most of the routes and a lot of the students’ names! I’ve transported thousands of students over the years.”

Wylie Independent School District encourages students to explore big ideas, think creatively, and pursue their passions. For Wylie East sophomore Atharva Eleyaar, that encouragement recently led to an impressive accomplishment: publishing his own science-fiction thriller while still in high school.

At Achieve Academy, the school day sometimes pauses for a special announcement. Over the intercom, the principal shares that a student has officially met all graduation requirements. Just like that, a journey worth celebrating is recognized by everyone.

Wylie ISD invites families to its annual Kindergarten Roundup on Thursday, April 9, from 4:30-6 p.m. at each elementary campus.
