Wylie ISD is excited to announce Princess Stewart as the new assistant principal of Groves Elementary for the upcoming school year. Stewart will take over for Meagan Wendt, who has been named the new assistant principal at Hartman Early Childhood Learning Center.

Wylie ISD is proud to welcome Shawnell Bradshaw as the inaugural principal of Hartman Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC). She steps into this role following Joey Welborn’s departure from the district to pursue a position outside of education.

Watkins Elementary honored Mr. Wally Watkins by hosting their first-ever handshake competition for the entire fourth-grade class. At 88 years old, Watkins remains committed to building connections with the staff and students at the school that bears his name.

When a fellow student had a medical emergency on the bus ride home, Burnett Junior High student Garrison Suell didn’t hesitate. Drawing on first-aid training he learned in his physical education class, Suell’s quick actions earned him the district’s “Life Saver” award.

The entire second-grade class at Smith Elementary recently transformed their classrooms into a Poetry Café, where students wrote two of their very own poems and presented them to their classmates and parents.
