Watkins fourth graders travel to Cameron Park Zoo, Waco Mammoth National Monument, and Inner Space Cavern

Fourth graders from Watkins Elementary traveled to Waco and Georgetown on an Education in Action Discover Texas Field Trip, Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, to experience what they are learning in science. Students visited Waco's Cameron Park Zoo and Waco Mammoth National Monument and Inner Space Cavern in Georgetown.

Former Wylie High Pirate Helps Lead Washington Huskies to 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer College Cup Championship

Former Wylie High School standout Osato Enabulele helped secure the 2025 NCAA D1 Men’s Soccer College Cup Championship for the University of Washington. Enabulele, a Wylie High Class of 2025 graduate, started and finished the intense, sudden-death overtime match Dec. 15, where the Huskies claimed a thrilling 3–2 victory over North Carolina State.

Bus Driver Julio Ospina Wins  National Special Needs Driver of the Year Award for Heroic Student Rescue

Wylie ISD Special Education Bus Driver Julio Ospina was selected as the 2025 National Special Needs Driver of the Year by AMF Bruns America. He was surprised with the honor and a $1,000 check Dec. 4 at the Wylie ISD Transportation Center, surrounded by Wylie ISD bus drivers, transportation personnel, and district leadership.
