On Friday, March 14, 2025, Cox Elementary held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Mendoza Legacy Park, a space dedicated to honoring the lives and legacy of Daniela and Sofia Mendoza. The sisters, beloved former Cox Elementary students, were tragically taken in the May 2023 Allen Premium Outlets shooting.

High school art students hit it out of the park at the regional Visual Scholastic Arts Event competition, VASE. Twenty-three Wylie ISD high school students’ artwork will advance to the state level in San Marcos in April.

The Wylie Sports Hall of Honor welcomed four new inductees during a ceremony Feb. 22 at McMillan Junior High. Former Wylie head football coach Bill Howard and former Wylie ISD athletes Richard Edge (WHS Class of 1982), Colby Harper (WHS Class of 2010), and Justin Young (WEHS Class of 2017) were recognized for their outstanding contributions to Wylie athletics.
The high schools just got a latte cooler! Students no longer have to risk being tardy to get their caffeine fix in the mornings. Wylie East and Wylie High Schools now offer iced lattes in the cafeteria during breakfast service, and they are getting hot reviews!
