Mrs. Heather Smyder

Thank you for visiting my page.  Please know that I am here to help and support you and your child during their time at Burnett.  My focus is to make sure that our students develop a wide range of skills that not only help them academically, but will provide them life long ability to flourish emotionally, mentally, and in their relationships.  Feel free to reach out to me any time, and check back to this page as the year progresses to see what kinds of skills we are working on here at Burnett.

    Mentor Program

Wylie ISD's vision is to improve the lives of our students by fostering a sense of self-esteem, self-confidence and motivation to make choices that lead toward accomplishing personal goals.

One of the ways we accomplish this is by pairing our students with community members who care about our youth, and want to give back.

Think your child could benefit from a mentor?  Contact Mrs. Smyder and fill out the contract below to start the process.

Update: The Mentor Program will continue the 2002-21 school year!  Reach out to a BJHS counselor to find out how the program will work in the time of social distancing.
