Astronomy Education and Public Outreach
In my spare time, I work with The University of Texas at Austin Astronomy Department. I participate in many Education and Public Outreach presentations and activities. This has given me the opportunity to travel to McDonald Observatory in Fort Davis, Texas, to work with astronomers and present workshops to teachers. I've attended several meetings of the American Astornomical Society and presented at the Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching. In 2009 I traveled to NASA's Infrared Telescope Facility on Mauna Kea in Hawai'i to assist with research. Most recently, I flew on NASA's Stratospheric Observatory For Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) in February 2015.
